BA Hons, B Litt Hons, MA, Dip Ed, PhD
I was the first in my family to complete high school and attend university. My mother and her family emigrated to Australia from Israel in the 1940s speaking no English and learning about Australia on the factory floor. That sparked my interest in the importance of education in making a difference for girls and women. I was a secondary teacher before moving into academia where I have specialised in women and leadership, and particularly women from culturally diverse backgrounds. My areas of expertise also include refugee education and school leadership for social justice.
